The Pench Rhymes....

Seoni woods are not a mystery,

They have a rich and an alluring history.

Of souls that left the land of Kihamali,Bhirra, Garari,

And souls that still roam around the routes one, two and three.

In the 16th century, this legend, this land inscribed in Ain-i-Akbari tells us that it's more than just a tiger reserve.

In the 17th century, the Gond Kingdom of Ransur and Ghansur,

From where the history runs deep down the roots of trees within the land and in the veins of the tigers who reign till date. The water that flows from Pench to Kanhan, carries stories of the kingdom, once upon a time, in each of its drops.

Pench straddles across two states, one once ruled by the Bhosales and another by the Deogarhs and many thereafter.

From Forsyth's field work to Kipling's fictional work, the stories of Pench fly far across the continent. With British threads of history woven in this story of this very Indian land, Pench's history is it's treasure. For history is what makes us write tomorrow's story.

Seoni woods are not a mystery

They have a rich and an alluring history

Of souls that left the land of Kihamali,Bhirra, Garari

And souls that still roam around the routes one, two and three.
